Introducing, Next Up NoVa

Next Up NoVa is a combination of love of our community, passion for sports, and belief in the power of creating opportunities.

Our story starts with two lifelong friends who grew up together in Northern Virginia and dreamed of creating a space that allowed them to support their community, lean in to their passion for sports, and create opportunities for the kids in their area. In 2024, they decided to bring it to life.

Purchasing and remodeling the space and adding the best equipment was just the beginning. Once the scene was set they knew that in order to make this happen the right way, the coaches were the key. By bringing together coaches who love to teach as much as they love their sports and who each have inspirational (some even local celebrity status) athletic careers themselves, Next Up NoVa turns into somewhere that has the ability to impact the trajectory of students athletic careers— and somewhere they want to be a part of. From record-holding champions to notorious coaches, our team is made up of the best and it’s paying off.

Since launching last year, we’ve grown to support a full roster of classes at each skill level for both basketball and volleyball, a full gym of equipment, and a community of students who are getting closer to their goals each day. We even have some new and super exciting things planned for the future that we can’t wait to share with you. None of this would be possible without community support, the area has welcomed and uplifted us and we couldn’t be more grateful.

The passion, talent, and energy that we see in athletes every day keep us going and make us stronger. We created Next Up Nova to create a safe, supported, and engaging space for these athletes to learn, grow, and develop confidence in their sport, and we’re just getting started.
